Access to Hostelling International hostels worldwide! With your 12-month HI Card you will have access to nearly 5,000 hostels in 71 countries. Just look for Hostelling International's Blue Triangle to assure top-quality accommodations. If you are traveling during peak seasons, you'll occasionally find hostels that will only take members. For locations of member hostels, please see the hostels page on the Hostelling International website. When you present your HI card at any HI hostel you're entitled to the special member rate. Non-members will pay an extra $3 U.S. per night.
Members also get discounts on attractions, food, car rentals, etc.; just ask about them at any member hostel. Most hostels provide bulletin boards or pamphlets detailing discounts in their area and some even sell discounted tickets at the front desk. Access to the International Booking Network (IBN). Only members can use the International Booking Network. Use this reservation network to make prepaid bookings for hostels in over 200 locations before you leave and as you're traveling.
